What type of sprinkler head do I need?

Although most professional sprinkler installers will try to avoid using fixed sprinkler heads, they may suit the needs of your lawn. Pop-up sprinklers are the more popular option as they can be more easily hidden.

Pop-up sprinkler heads
- Most popular
- Installed below the ground, “pop up” when turned on
- Safe and discreet

Fixed (shrub) sprinkler heads
- Less common
- Installed on a riser or extension above the ground
- Should only be used in low traffic areas or corners
- Can be a tripping hazard
- Avoid using them in the middle of a lawn
